Converge 2022

For more than two decades schools have been trying to solve the teacher and student engagement problem. This presentation outlines how we arrived at a place where teachers are battle fatigued and students are emotionally unequipped for the rigors of learning, as well as charts a redemptive path forward from the unsustainable strain on our schools. I will propose how we might rethink our mission in the context of a post-pandemic society and consider the metaphor of a field hospital to frame our conversation. Participants will gain an understanding of why the demands have gotten increasingly harder and consider steps to revitalize our work and prepare students as resilient learners who can lead under any conditions.
