As communities are formed, they by definition include some and exclude others.  As followers of Jesus, empowered by the depthless love of God, we are called to form communities that embody that love. So the question is, how do we create communities that bring clarity to who we are and what we believe but also allow people to engage and explore in meaningful ways those beliefs? How do our Christian schools specifically embody the kind of community that Christ came to inaugurate? This session will explore these questions, taking significant direction from the work of Miroslav Volf of the Yale Center for Faith and Culture and his book, Exclusion and Embrace: A Theological Exploration of Identity, Otherness, and Reconciliation.
